Why gfs.ai exists

The coverage of humanoid companions is split between breathless tabloid clips and dry industrial robotics press. Neither serves the person who is simply curious — or seriously considering — a machine built for company. We started gfs.ai to be the missing middle: premium, honest, and unembarrassed about an adult subject.

We track every model worth knowing across 16 machines and 13 makers, compare them on the specs that matter, and report on the technology, business, and ethics of synthetic companionship — for adults, without the hype.

How we judge realism

Every machine in our directory carries a realism index out of 100 — an editorial judgement, not a manufacturer spec. It weighs four things: the face (and crucially, how it holds up in motion), the skin and touch, the naturalness of movement, and the mind — memory, continuity, and conversation. A head-and-shoulders companion can score well on face and poorly on movement; a factory humanoid the reverse. The number only means something next to those four parts, which is why we always show both. We explain the method in full in our realism guide.

Our standards

• Sources over hype. We cite primary sources, flag marketing claims as marketing, and tell you when a viral spec has never been independently verified.
• Frank, not explicit. We discuss intimacy and companionship like adults — but there is nothing sexually explicit here. Mature in subject, never in imagery.
• Independent. gfs.aireports on companions; we don't sell them. Where we link to a retailer, we say so on our disclosure page.
