XPeng Sets 2027 Deliveries for Its IRON Humanoid After Raising Over $900M
At its October 12 Paris event, XPeng said it has commissioned a dedicated IRON production line, with mass production by the end of 2026, deliveries from the first half of 2027 and a European rollout in the second half. Stores and malls come first; homes later.
The money came first. In August, XPeng said its robotics business had raised more than $900 million at a post-money valuation above $6.3 billion, led by IDG Capital with Gaorong Ventures, Tencent and Alibaba, Electrek reported. About $600 million came from outside investors, roughly $200 million from an XPeng subsidiary and $100 million from leadership, and XPeng plans to move the robotics business into a standalone subsidiary over 18 months while keeping about 82%. Its stated targets are capacity above 1,000 units a month and a million units by 2030.
XPeng lists 76 degrees of freedom in IRON's body and 21 in each hand, under what it calls a "fully enclosed flexible lattice structure" as synthetic skin. The first jobs are commercial: stores and shopping malls, with household use planned later. Neither report mentions the US, where the FCC's July decision keeps new foreign-produced humanoids from equipment authorization without a Department of War exemption. Every number here is a company target until robots ship.
