Boston Dynamics' Electric Atlas Enters Limited Production
The all-electric Atlas began limited commercial production in early 2026, with the first units committed to Hyundai and Google DeepMind.
Not a companion, but a ceiling-raiser. Atlas is now a product, not a research stunt — and its whole-body autonomy, backed by Toyota Research and Google DeepMind, is exactly the locomotion a companion will eventually need. The capability exists; the warmth is somebody else's job.
