Unitree Closes Up About 460% in Its Shanghai STAR Market Debut
Unitree listed on Shanghai's STAR Market at ¥150.80 a share and closed its first day up about 460%, after rising more than 620% at the peak. The IPO price valued it at about ¥61 billion ($9 billion); intraday, its market value touched ¥445 billion ($66 billion).
Investors are paying for volume. Unitree shipped more than 5,500 humanoid robots in 2025, which is why Rinat Mirzaitov of Humanoid Analytics told Al Jazeera it is "one of the few companies in humanoid robotics with genuine revenue, profitability and meaningful production volume." The listing completes the process we covered when Unitree filed in March.
For this directory, the G1 and H1 are context rather than companions: neither has a face or a companion pitch. The timing is the US angle. The debut came three weeks after the FCC put foreign-produced humanoids on its Covered List, which keeps new foreign-built models, Unitree's included, from getting US equipment authorization without a Department of War exemption.
